100-Plus Turn Out for Developer Expo

June 17, 2009

The team from CB Richard Ellis (above) were winners of the Northland Cup at a Developers Expo sponsored by the EDC Oct. 7. Below, developers and members of the ED Pros and EDC staff talked about what makes Clay County a great business location.

More than 100 developers turned out Oct. 7 for the Clay County Economic Development Council's Developer Expo at the Staley Farms Golf Club.

Although an afternoon of golf at the beautiful club may have been a factor, growing interest in Clay County opportunities were a major factor. Inquiries included potential development from the Downtown Charles B. Wheeler Airport to Kearney.

Organized with key assistance from the EDC's ED Pros Committee, the session gave developers an opportunity to visit with economic development professionals from high-growth areas such as Gladstone, Kearney, Liberty, North Kansas City and Kansas City.

Following the expo, the Northland Cup golf tournament offered cash prizes and an enjoyable outing on one of the finest private courses in the Midwest. Teams of four competed.
