Cerner and City of Nevada Work to Improve Health Care

September, 2012

With its world headquarters in Clay County, Cerner recently announced a partnership with the city of Nevada, Mo.

The effort’s goal is to improve residents’ health and reduce health-care expenses by 10 percent. The project will work through area schools, employers and community organizations to expand health information. Cerner will also digitize health records at Nevada Regional Medical Center, the area’s primary health center.

A major goal of the effort is to raise the region’s health ranking. Vernon County, where Nevada is located, was recently listed as 88th out of 115 counties in Missouri in terms of health outcomes.
