As reported Feb. 22 by the Kansas City Business Journal, Hunt announced plans to begin construction of a 475,295-square-foot distribution facility in the Hunt Midwest Business Center near the intersection of I-435 and Parvin Road. A second, smaller building is planned for next year, depending on marketing of the first. The two buildings will represent a $40 million investment. The plans are near a site under development by a company that builds projects such as data centers for Google. These and separate developments in southwest Liberty represent a significant increase in Clay County spec building construction, which until recently was relatively rare.
