Clay County Economic Development Council officials joined leaders from Ameristar Casino in a recent tour of the Midwest Entertainment and Gambling Academy Dealer Training Lab.

Located on the Metropolitan Community College Business and Technology Campus, the lab provides training for the region’s large casino employment market. Working with Clay County’s two casinos, Harrah’s and Ameristar, the EDC initiated the tour in order to assist with training issues facing the companies that employ more than 2,000 people.

Technical College Dean Deborah Goodall and Kevin Kelly, Community Development director, represented metropolitan Community College. Director Jim Hampton and director of Business Development Christian Sizemore represented the EDC.
