Multi-Michelin star chef and television personality Gordon Ramsay will bring his first restaurant to the Midwest, Gordon Ramsay Steak.
Slated to open in November, the unveiling will occur at Harrah’s North Kansas City Casino and Hotel. His only other locations are in Las Vegas, Baltimore and Atlantic City.
"I’ve been wanting to expand to the Midwest for some time and found Harrah’s North Kansas City to be the perfect location for Gordon Ramsay Steak,” Ramsay said in a press release. “My team is thrilled to introduce some of my most signature items, including the popular beef Wellington and my all-time favorite dessert the sticky toffee pudding to the Heartland.”
Expectations are also high at Harrah’s. “We are thrilled to team up with internationally-renowned chef Gordon Ramsay to bring his world-class menu to our guests and the Midwest,” noted Darren VanDover, SVP and General Manager of Harrah’s North Kansas City. “With Chef Ramsay’s passion and attention to detail, we are sure this new restaurant offering will excite our returning guests and provide a compelling reason for first-time customers, in and around Kansas City, to visit our wonderful property.”
Ramsay's steakhouse will fill space used previously by '37 Steak. The new venue will feature a seasonal menu with beef sourced from Creekstone Farms in Arkansas City, and dairy and cheese sourced from Green Dirt Farm in Weston. The restaurant’s entrees will include Wagyu beef, different cuts of dry-aged steaks, seafood, veal and a selection of Kansas City barbecue-inspired items. Appetizers include smoked beef tartare, herb gnocchi and seared Hudson Valley foie gras. Cocktails made with locally distilled spirits and a huge wine list will be featured.
The restaurant's motif will be modern, with accents from Ramsay's British background. Seating for more than 200 and multiple private dining rooms will be available. Chef Matt Powers, who has been training with Ramsay's team, will be in charge of the kitchen. His background includes work with Ramsey team member Christina Wilson, the season 10 winner of the popular television program, "Hell's Kitchen."
