Clay County Among Healthiest in the Nation

Clay County is one of the healthiest counties in the United States, according to a recent ranking of U.S. News & World Report.

Based on health outcomes and access to care, the magazine's Healthiest Communities rankings included among their 500 top scorers Clay and Platte counties in Missouri and Johnson County, Kansas. U.S. News & World Report reviewed multiple health-based factors in nearly 3,000 U.S. counties in their annual compilation.

The seven Greater Kansas City counties in the study were ranked as follows:

  • Johnson, Ks.: 74.8
  • Platte: 70.8
  • Clay: 66.8
  • Leavenworth: 56.9
  • Cass: 56.5
  • Jackson: 40.6
  • Wyandotte: 30
