EDC to Host 2008 Legislative Review

The Clay County Economic Development Council will host its annual end-of-session legislative review with area state representatives on Tuesday, May 20.

The event begins at 7:30 a.m. at Kansas City Police Shoal Creek Patrol Station, 6801 NE Pleasant Valley Road, Kansas City.

Clay County legislators will be on hand to discuss the Missouri house and senate sessions and significant legislative passed and discussed.

Free coffee will be provided and those who plan to attend are asked to RSVP. For more information, call the EDC at (816) 468-4989 or e-mail info@clayedc.com.

Info Exchange Calendar Set for 2008

The remaining 2008 Information Exchange Schedule has been announced:

June 4—What’s New in Independent Schools in Clay County. A panel composed of Kyle Karsten, Principal of Martin Luther Academy; Dr. Richard Rice, Administrator of Northland Christian High School; and Marlon DeLaTorre, Superintendent of the Kansas City/St. Joseph Diocese Schools.

The June 4 Info X will be held at the Shoal Creek Patrol Station, 6801 NE Pleasant Valley Road.

August 6—The Clay County Brand, Greg Martinette.

September 3—What’s New In Higher Education—Panel of the presidents of Business & Technical College, Maplewoods College, Park University, & William Jewell College

October 1—KCI & Wheeler Airports and the Global Cargo Industry—Gary Bartek, Manager, Air Cargo Development

November 5—KC Police Comprehensive Strategic Team Accountability Review—Mike Moats

December 3---The Future of Banking in Clay County—Mark Tankesley, Moderator
