EDC's Marketing Committee initiatives benefit members and executives who are evaluating the area for location potential.

Overall Activities
The EDC's Marketing Committee is among the most dynamic, with general organization and county marketing efforts, international business and the important Northland Schools Alliance program (see separate page for NSA activities).

Workforce Recruitment
Both local and national business owners can benefit from the Committee's efforts with the Full Employment Council. This program is designed to ensure the continuation of a solid workforce base. Consisting of an ongoing series of roundtable meetings, the workforce effort offers useful employment information on subsidized wages, customized training and employee recruitment. EDC workforce efforts are addressing a key area all employers.

Education
Another critical area often overlooked involves education. The Marketing Committee has completed a brochure to promote the excellent educational opportunities in the Northland. Typical of EDC-related projects, this effort has grown into a Northland-wide task force that is collaborating effectively to communicate how well Northland schools rank regionally and nationally.

Business Surveys
Staying in close contact with the business community and learning more about the types of businesses Clay County needs to recruit are motivations for Business Survey site visits. Several quality of life issues were identified as priorities. As a follow-up, business owners are questioned on solutions and the EDC's role in providing assistance.
