Life Sciences

With the opening of the Stowers Institute, Kansas City was well on its way to becoming one of the nation's leading metropolitan areas for the study of life sciences.

As part of the EDC's strategic plan, the Council formed a task force to help position Clay County as a major element of the area's growing life sciences recruitment initiative. This group is meeting regularly to explore options in this area and to collaborate with related organizations in Clay County and throughout the metropolitan area.

To date, the task force has begun to plan carefully so that Clay County will be an attractive location for life science firms and the businesses that support them. Updates on this important initiative will be posted here, and on the News page.
